Chad spent the majority of this childhood around cars and skateboarding. He used to draw cars from a young age and got into going to car shows. Working on custom cars came naturally to him. After building a few cars and having his first featured vehicle in Truckin' Magazine in 1996, it all steamrolled from there. Chad started working on motorcycles and other trucks, and realized painting was only part of his passion. Each build became more and more detailed, and he realized that every aspect of the build depended upon each other. Chad then pursued his dream and opened up Metal Asylum Kustom Finishes; which is now known as Catalyst Customs.

Catalyst Customs builds show cars. They build complete, quality, detailed vehicles from design to delivery. Catalyst Customs has worked with many manufacturers building vehicles to be featured at SEMA. Customers come to Chad with a design in their head and he is able to put that design to metal. From start to finish, Catalyst Customs makes sure that every vehicle that is built is complete - from the inside, the outside, the engine bay, to the undercarriage - Catalyst Customs makes sure that everything works together and that no screw is left unturned.
